Frequently Asked
Questions

I get it. With so much information out there and our busy schedules, we can only do so much to incorporate that elusive “healthy lifestyle.” The key to functional medicine is that we identify the root cause of issues, therefore pinpointing where to focus your energy to get to the outcome you desire.

Lifestyle interventions are often instrumental in functional medicine treatment and require you to be willing to make the changes your body is asking for. However, the benefits are so significant! Compared to the conventional medicine “quick fix” method (primarily using medications), functional medicine offers a real, lasting path to health and healing.

The initial appointment will be at least 90 minutes. Follow-up appointments are 30-60 minutes.

During your initial appointment:

  1. ) We go through your history, focusing on events related to your primary issues.

  2. ) I organize your information using the Functional Medicine framework.

  3. ) I will confirm my understanding and identify any potential contributing historical factors, events that may have triggered the issue, and anything that may be keeping you from getting better.

  4. ) We prioritize your symptoms based on what is most concerning to you.

  5. ) We decide on next steps and discuss follow-up.

After your appointment:

I will send you my written assessment and plan. I will be available through messaging if you have any additional questions about your plan.

I use Azova – a secure, HIPAA compliant platform. This is also where you book your appointment, fill out the intake form and attach any labs or reports you may have from the past. Additionally, you will have access to messaging through this platform to contact me if needed.

While I am unable to bill insurance for my services, you can use your FSA or HSA account if you have one. In terms of lab work, your insurance can be used for the labs that are covered by the insurance.

As you may expect, this depends on what your symptoms are and the complexity of your issues. In most cases, it would be ideal to work together for at least 6 months. At each follow-up visit, we will revise your treatment plan based on lab work, response and your priorities.

Using the functional medicine framework, my goal is to not only improve your symptoms, but for you to experience steady improvements over time in the overall spectrum of health.

Yes! With the PharmToTable team, we offer 6 and 12 month packages. These include multiple functional medicine visits, health coaching visits (by a 2nd functional medicine pharmacist), as well as additional bonuses.
